About John:

John is a native of the Bronx, New York. After moving out of the city in 1985, he returned there during his college years to work in the town of Verplanck, New York at a fish hatchery designed to help repopulate the Hudson River. Working there, he became interested in the writings of author T. Coraghessan Boyle, who he was told worked at the same hatchery at one time.  A graduate of Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, John Shults has had a diverse life and a wide range of expertise. Spending years in the aquaculture and environmental industries, John now has become deeply entrenched in the hospitality industry, where he manages resort properties. John is currently certified as an Aquatic Facilites Operator Instructor, American Red Cross Instructor, and a member of the National Parks and Recreation Association.  He has written technical manuals, articles, short stories, and is currently a contributing writer for Suite101.com.  He is currently accepting freelance writing jobs.
